I think procrastination is the “check engine” light on your productivity meter. The good news, in this case, is that you don’t need to take yourself in for extensive or expensive diagnostics and repairs.

Procrastination is not the issue, it’s a symptom (of perfectionism, aka fear). Treat the symptom…fear. Fear is designed to keep you safe, in this instance, by keeping you as far away from the task in question as possible.

Fortunately, you can treat fear. Notice I said “treat fear,” not, do away with it. Fear is coming along for the ride but there are endless ways to reckon with it. In upcoming posts I’ll discuss what you might want to keep on hand to relieve the symptoms so you don’t lose your stride…Or, perhaps, finally find it.
